ImmoCare – software for building management

A team project during my studies (3 people, 03/2023 – 04/2024): software that property managers use to organise tasks, users and buildings – as an app for Windows, Android and iOS with its own server. I was responsible for user and task management.

My part

  • User management: change user name, email and password – with validation
  • Task management: create and edit tasks, “My tasks” with edit rights, grouping by status
  • Extensions: file upload and download, comment section, autocomplete for user selection, a custom date picker
  • Groundwork for the team: data transfer objects (DTOs), Syncfusion controls, gRPC streaming
  • Each end to end: interface (view + view model), gRPC contract, server service and database migration

Architecture

  • App in .NET MAUI following the MVVM pattern (CommunityToolkit, Syncfusion)
  • Communication via gRPC with an ASP.NET Core server
  • Data access with Entity Framework, repository and unit of work, SQL Server
  • Also in the project: a monitoring app for TVs with weather data

Way of working

  • Changes via pull requests with code reviews
  • Unit tests and architecture tests
  • Tasks split within the team, regular check-ins
